When I became a Dr. course student, I gave up to follow new rock musics as I was so busy. It has been 30 years since then. At last, I realized that I had to offset my blank days of rock musics to energize my life.

One day of the last summer, I went to a rental agency, TSUTAYA, to borrow some music CDs. I chose the Justin's CD basing on the information on the jackets. Later at the month, I was very surprised when I happened to notice that Justine was male. It was a shock for me. I'm still wondering about everyone know the fact.

Let's forget the bitter memory. Today, I'll rent new rock music CDs this time! Because I know very little about the music scene in recent days, I also have to borrow them on the basis of the information on their jackets. My choices are as follows.

The Offspring is one of my few favorite rock bands. I'm enjoining their best album on my JOG time, and that is about it. I also know the name, Guns N' Roses, but have not rent their CD yet.

While I was in TSUTAYA, I looked for the dvd, METAL-HEAD which was introduced by my friend, Mr. F. I was very excited to hear the situation. There was a flagging family in a flagging town. A vagabond heavy-metal lover came to the town and settled in their home. That all I heard from him. I thought "wow it must be my movie! I have to watch it!"  But unfortunately, there was no DVD of the title. So, I ordered the movie to the clerk and I was said that it will be a week to be carried to the store. So I'm looking forward to watching the movie!

Today. I bought a double cheese burger set at the McDonald and went to my office. I threw the Guns N' Roses CD into the iTunes while hearing the music of The Offspring, maintaining the PCs, and compiling the code VASP on the parallel computer. The CPU time for the compilation took more than several hours, it is totally unusual. However, the code is so complex and the optimization process takes most of the long CPU time.

１２月２３日

この３０年のブランクを解消すべく最近のミュージックCDを４枚借りてきた．前回は「どーれ，最近のポップミュージックでも聴くべか」と，意気込んでTSUTAYAに向かったのだが，よりによってジャスティン・ビーバーちゃんを借りてきてしまった．何の知識も無いまま，CDジャケットの絵や写真，キャッチコピーを見て借りたのが運の尽きであった．ジャスティンちゃん，あとから男性と知ってしまって，かるい脳しんとう的なショックに見舞われたことは既に書いた通りである．

そんなつらい過去は忘れよう．ロック，ロック，ロックをジャケット借りするのだーっ！　あまり知らないので，今回も，結局ジャケ借りです．

Offspringは最近お気に入りのパンク系バンド．とは行っても，ベスト盤をジョグのBGMに聞いているだけ．Guns N' Rosesは昔から，たまーに聞いてちょっとは覚えている．今はまだ，この程度の知識に過ぎない．

ついでにF氏に紹介された「メタルヘッド」のDVDを探す．ヘビメタの風来坊と疲れ切った家族，これだけ聞いただけで何が起こるのかわくわくしてしまう．が，無い．緑が丘のTSUTAYAには無かったのだ．結局，お取り寄せレンタルサービスを利用することにした．来るまで１週間ほどかかるみたいです．今から楽しみです．

今日は日曜．お昼前にマクドでダブルチーズバーガーセット（ホットコーヒーMサイズ）を買い，いざ，仕事場へ．Guns N' RosesのCDをiTunesに読み込ませながらOffspringを流し，PCを整備しつつ，大学の並列マシンでVASPの最新バージョンのコンパイルに精を出す．コンパイルだけで数時間かかるっていうのは異常です．どんだけ複雑なコードなんでしょうか．ま，いっか．もうっ，ロック聞きまくるぞーっ！

夕方から雫石プリンスホテルに移動．
明日は朝からスキー三昧の予定．

地震があった earthquake

今，強い地震がありました．震度４くらいとのことです．
とりあえず，身の回りには被害がないようです．

There was an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 4 to 5. We are in the inland area of Iwate prefecture. Though it seems that there is no serious damage here, but we are now very concerned about the Tsunami which will hit the coastal area.

このプロジェクトはGoogleでなければできないと思う．あるいはGoogleだからこそやるべきなのだろう．特に注目したいのは「復興までの道筋をたどる」と宣言していること．是非，おねがいします．

I was so surprised about the Google project, Mirai-he-no Kioku, or the memories for future. It is the picture archive of the severely damaged architectures caused by the 3.11 tsunami disaster of Japan.

The importance of the project is quite obvious. I hope it will serve not only for our memories, but also as teaching and studying materials of the disaster. Nice work.

みんなが寝静まった後のチョコ＆ウイスキー．うますぎて，やめられません．
チョコ食べたー，と怒られるので子供には内緒です．ですので後でチョコを買ってあげます．

Making sure that everyone in the house was asleep, I had chocolate and whiskey. As a matter of course, it was too delicious and I can not kick the habit. I'm giving myself some rewards. By the way, this information is strictly confidential since my daughter loves chocolate very much. So, I'll have to buy her a new piece of chocolate tomorrow.

「ねー，ねー，明日，マルイチでミカンがやすいよ」「・・・ん？」
「一箱で９８０円だって」「・・・で？」
「買っておいで，って，こと」

そうゆうこと．


My wife, she was checking an advertising insert.

"Honey, look at me. Tomorrow, Japanese mandarine oranges will be going cheap at the Maruichi supermarket!" "…what?"

"It will be 480 Japanese Yen for a box of mandarines, about 5kg oranges." "…well?"
"I mean buy it"

So she means I'll buy the box.


お昼は丸亀製麺でうどんをいただきました．

私が食べたのは半熟たまごぶっかけうどん．汁のないあつあつのうどんに半熟たまごを入れ，そのままがばがばと箸でかき混ぜて，どんぶりを渡されました．

「お醤油を少し垂らしてたべてください」 麺と絡み合って，それはまるでカルボナーラ．

We visited Marukame noodle making factory restaurant. Today's lunch is Sanuki udon; thick white Japanese noodles or macaronis made from wheat flour, salt, and water.

A soft-boiled egg was dropped into the bowl of hot-plain Sanuki udon without broth or trimmings. And then the udon was stirred up with chopstics.

"Please help yourself with the udon dropping some soy source." The egg nicely harmonize with the udon as if it was a carbonara.

火星人

ひとりぼっちで火星を探査しつづけているNASAのロボットCuriosityが，何かを見つけたらしい．

現地時間の月曜日，アメリカ地球物理学連合会で発表するとのこと．これについてはNASAで箝口令が敷かれているようで，プロジェクトの関係者は皆口を閉ざしている．

ただし火星人・・・ではないことは確か．採取した砂の中から，なにかの生体の組織の断片，あるいはその名残でも見つけたのではないか，というのがTwitter上でのうわさ話．もしもそうならば，生命の起源は火星にある，とする最近の学説を支持する強力な証拠となる．実は我々みんな火星人・・・だったりして．

複雑なデータから特徴を抽出して学習していくプログラム，deep-learning技術が注目を浴びている．これまでも人工知能を応用した同様なシステムは存在したが，deep-learning技術を用いることで，その効率や精度といったものを桁違いに向上させることが可能となる．

Learning program extracting characteristics form complex subjects, the deep-learning technology, becomes a focus of attention. Though there have been similar systems based on the concept of the artificial interigence, order of magnitude improvements on its efficiency as well as on its accuracy have been achieved by employing the deep-learning technology.

マイクロソフトによるデモンストレーションでは，deep-learning技術を応用した自動翻訳システムによって，プレゼンターの英語のスピーチがその場で中国語に翻訳されている．

In the recent demonstration performed by the Microsoft, the speech of the presenter was instantly transformed into the Mandarin by the auto translation system, a child of the  deep-learning technology.

応用できる分野は限りない．金融や株式相場の予測，創薬，選挙の予測，電波望遠鏡の膨大なデータの解析．ネット上のBigDataを解析してテロを阻止する，雑多な自然現象から未知の物理法則を抽出する，地球温暖化対策．

There would be vast application field. such as the trend analysis of stock market,  drug design, prediction of election outcomes, analysis of the BigData from the radio telescopes around the world, anti-terrorism operation basing on the analysis of the BigData on the internet, seeking new physical law, and application to the countermeasure for the global warming….

deep-learning技術によってコンピュータが人間を凌駕するパターン認識力を得たとしたら，次は意志決定プロセスの獲得か，，，現実には，それが如何に頼りないものであっても．

どうしてもターミネーターのスカイネットを連想してしまうのは年のせい？！

If the computer significantly enhances its ability of machine recognition through the use of the deep-learning technology, the next target will be to master the decision theory no matter how the theory itself is unreliable, especially of human.

These kind of things remind me the skynet, the air defense system in the movie, Terminator. It must be old age…. Let's drink whiskey straight.
