METALHEAD & The Offspring

映画 METALHEAD．
DVDに問題があり，再生に手間取りましたが，やっと昨日，最後まで鑑賞できた．Hesherはばあちゃん思いの良いメタルロック野郎だった．これはヘビーなロックがわかる大人向け．もうPG32でしょう．まぁ，そんなめちゃくちゃ高い年齢制限なんて無いですが．

年末年始は，バイオハザードの鑑賞の予定．V -> IV．．．とさかのぼっていきます．こちらも内容から言って真夜中の個人鑑賞．寝不足の日々・・・

それと忘れてはならない，The Offspring の You're Gonna Go Far, Kid．

打ちのめされました．こんな良い曲を知らずに生きていたなんて，なんて愚かであったことか．ちょっとおバカなパンク（失礼）と思ってましたが，本気で好きになりました．ＲＵＮと家事，仕事のＢＧＭとして，今日は朝から晩までOffspring！

ヘリウムガス

ヘリウムガス不足が深刻だ．

テキサス州アマリロ．地下深くに隠されたいくつもの井戸から，世界市場の約３０％のヘリウムガスが生み出されている．そのヘリウム，需要に対して供給が追いついていない．お祭りに欠かせないバルーンの数もスケールダウン．医療用ＭＲＩ（磁気共鳴断層撮影装置）に必要な量も確保が難しくなっている．大学や研究所での理工学実験に使う分も確保できていない．何しろ大学に来る業者さんが「有るなら売って欲しい」と言ってくる．

原因は生産設備の老巧化や，米国外の生産量の低下など，いろいろと取りざたされているようだが，どうもはっきりとしない．特殊な卸手続きにも問題がありそうだ．

rock music

When I became a Dr. course student, I gave up to follow new rock musics as I was so busy. It has been 30 years since then. At last, I realized that I had to offset my blank days of rock musics to energize my life.

One day of the last summer, I went to a rental agency, TSUTAYA, to borrow some music CDs. I chose the Justin's CD basing on the information on the jackets. Later at the month, I was very surprised when I happened to notice that Justine was male. It was a shock for me. I'm still wondering about everyone know the fact.

Let's forget the bitter memory. Today, I'll rent new rock music CDs this time! Because I know very little about the music scene in recent days, I also have to borrow them on the basis of the information on their jackets. My choices are as follows.

The Offspring is one of my few favorite rock bands. I'm enjoining their best album on my JOG time, and that is about it. I also know the name, Guns N' Roses, but have not rent their CD yet.

While I was in TSUTAYA, I looked for the dvd, METAL-HEAD which was introduced by my friend, Mr. F. I was very excited to hear the situation. There was a flagging family in a flagging town. A vagabond heavy-metal lover came to the town and settled in their home. That all I heard from him. I thought "wow it must be my movie! I have to watch it!"  But unfortunately, there was no DVD of the title. So, I ordered the movie to the clerk and I was said that it will be a week to be carried to the store. So I'm looking forward to watching the movie!

Today. I bought a double cheese burger set at the McDonald and went to my office. I threw the Guns N' Roses CD into the iTunes while hearing the music of The Offspring, maintaining the PCs, and compiling the code VASP on the parallel computer. The CPU time for the compilation took more than several hours, it is totally unusual. However, the code is so complex and the optimization process takes most of the long CPU time.

１２月２３日

この３０年のブランクを解消すべく最近のミュージックCDを４枚借りてきた．前回は「どーれ，最近のポップミュージックでも聴くべか」と，意気込んでTSUTAYAに向かったのだが，よりによってジャスティン・ビーバーちゃんを借りてきてしまった．何の知識も無いまま，CDジャケットの絵や写真，キャッチコピーを見て借りたのが運の尽きであった．ジャスティンちゃん，あとから男性と知ってしまって，かるい脳しんとう的なショックに見舞われたことは既に書いた通りである．

そんなつらい過去は忘れよう．ロック，ロック，ロックをジャケット借りするのだーっ！　あまり知らないので，今回も，結局ジャケ借りです．

Offspringは最近お気に入りのパンク系バンド．とは行っても，ベスト盤をジョグのBGMに聞いているだけ．Guns N' Rosesは昔から，たまーに聞いてちょっとは覚えている．今はまだ，この程度の知識に過ぎない．

ついでにF氏に紹介された「メタルヘッド」のDVDを探す．ヘビメタの風来坊と疲れ切った家族，これだけ聞いただけで何が起こるのかわくわくしてしまう．が，無い．緑が丘のTSUTAYAには無かったのだ．結局，お取り寄せレンタルサービスを利用することにした．来るまで１週間ほどかかるみたいです．今から楽しみです．

今日は日曜．お昼前にマクドでダブルチーズバーガーセット（ホットコーヒーMサイズ）を買い，いざ，仕事場へ．Guns N' RosesのCDをiTunesに読み込ませながらOffspringを流し，PCを整備しつつ，大学の並列マシンでVASPの最新バージョンのコンパイルに精を出す．コンパイルだけで数時間かかるっていうのは異常です．どんだけ複雑なコードなんでしょうか．ま，いっか．もうっ，ロック聞きまくるぞーっ！

夕方から雫石プリンスホテルに移動．
明日は朝からスキー三昧の予定．

地震があった earthquake

今，強い地震がありました．震度４くらいとのことです．
とりあえず，身の回りには被害がないようです．

There was an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 4 to 5. We are in the inland area of Iwate prefecture. Though it seems that there is no serious damage here, but we are now very concerned about the Tsunami which will hit the coastal area.

このプロジェクトはGoogleでなければできないと思う．あるいはGoogleだからこそやるべきなのだろう．特に注目したいのは「復興までの道筋をたどる」と宣言していること．是非，おねがいします．

I was so surprised about the Google project, Mirai-he-no Kioku, or the memories for future. It is the picture archive of the severely damaged architectures caused by the 3.11 tsunami disaster of Japan.

The importance of the project is quite obvious. I hope it will serve not only for our memories, but also as teaching and studying materials of the disaster. Nice work.

みんなが寝静まった後のチョコ＆ウイスキー．うますぎて，やめられません．
チョコ食べたー，と怒られるので子供には内緒です．ですので後でチョコを買ってあげます．

Making sure that everyone in the house was asleep, I had chocolate and whiskey. As a matter of course, it was too delicious and I can not kick the habit. I'm giving myself some rewards. By the way, this information is strictly confidential since my daughter loves chocolate very much. So, I'll have to buy her a new piece of chocolate tomorrow.

うちの奥さん，チラシを見ながら

「ねー，ねー，明日，マルイチでミカンがやすいよ」「・・・ん？」
「一箱で９８０円だって」「・・・で？」
「買っておいで，って，こと」

そうゆうこと．


My wife, she was checking an advertising insert.

"Honey, look at me. Tomorrow, Japanese mandarine oranges will be going cheap at the Maruichi supermarket!" "…what?"

"It will be 480 Japanese Yen for a box of mandarines, about 5kg oranges." "…well?"
"I mean buy it"

So she means I'll buy the box.


お昼は丸亀製麺でうどんをいただきました．

私が食べたのは半熟たまごぶっかけうどん．汁のないあつあつのうどんに半熟たまごを入れ，そのままがばがばと箸でかき混ぜて，どんぶりを渡されました．

「お醤油を少し垂らしてたべてください」 麺と絡み合って，それはまるでカルボナーラ．

We visited Marukame noodle making factory restaurant. Today's lunch is Sanuki udon; thick white Japanese noodles or macaronis made from wheat flour, salt, and water.

A soft-boiled egg was dropped into the bowl of hot-plain Sanuki udon without broth or trimmings. And then the udon was stirred up with chopstics.

"Please help yourself with the udon dropping some soy source." The egg nicely harmonize with the udon as if it was a carbonara.
